Macho Man Tea Kettle

A couple years back when my friends and I were sitting around trying to think up weird and wacky ideas for products we could make mock commercials for, we came up with the ‘Macho Man tea kettle’. It’s only difference from being a regular kettle was that it would sound like Randy saying ‘OH YEAH’ [...]

Filming again

Tonight Casey and I are shooting our first skit in a very, very long time. We are super excited! I borrow my buddies Nikon D7000 and will be capturing audio to my camera. The concept for this skit began brewing several years ago but we didn’t really know what to do with it. But now [...]

Blah!

For the last week and a half or so I’ve been varying degrees of ill. Mostly it’s been congestion and a cough, but has turned into a more bronchial cough and a large amount of exhaustion. This of course has made it difficult for me to work out and has made me uninterested in doing [...]

Here is The Sex Bots music video, ‘Come on Daddy’, directed and edited by Ilima Considine. I was the DP on this shoot with secondary camera and lighting assistance from Jeff Scott Taylor. Don’t worry boys and girls, it’s not as bad as it sounds. It alludes to things but doesn’t actually show anything.

Joke

Towards the end of filming for Keith Apland’s ‘The Corners‘ I was approached by Seth Allen, who played Frome, about helping to shoot a short film he’d written. I told him to send me the script and and we’d go from there. I found his script to be interesting and very odd. I knew that [...]

Batizado 2011

Just finished with my first Batizado, where I was baptized into Capoeira and got my first chord. It was so much work and probably the most fun I’ve had in a really long time. I did moves I’ve never been able to do before because the energy was right. The whole thing sort of started [...]

The Flatulent Robot

A long time ago I came up with this idea to make a quick cartoon entitled ‘The Flatulent Robot’. The concept was simply that a mad scientist created a robot from spare metal scraps and streets signs,  with the sole purpose of farting and laughing about it. During a road trip my sister named the [...]

Drawing #4

I did not have any time today to do a sketch, with work and Capoeira and eating in between. I had roughly an hour of relaxation time today. That’s nuts! and it’s how it’s going to be for the next couple days. Sunday will be a very welcomed day off, that’s for sure. Anyway, rather [...]

Mama Bean Concepts

A colleague of mine told me about a venture she wants to do. After hearing the name and concept, I said I wanted to give a go at sketching up a possible logo or character design. These are some rough preliminaries, they are supposed to be beans. As in green beans. I was going for [...]

  • Paul Anderson

Loving what you do is the ultimate goal in life and when I get a project that I can really bite my teeth into, I feel like I'm going in the right direction.

Art is a vast monster and I've never been able to set my focus on one particular avenue, so I dabble in many different fields. My current favorites are video manipulate with After Effects and manipulation of photographs via Photoshop and After Effects.

Die Laughing Media is based in Portland, Oregon.

  • What Clients Say:

"Paul is a rare find these days. He is truly passionate about media of all kinds, and it shows in the quality of his work. He would be a major asset to the production team of any film studio and his After-Effects skills are noteworthy. I am happy to have hired him for several projects, and plan on using his services in the future."
